Ethical Collection Returns Policy
At Ethical Collection our ultimate goal is to have happy customers and we want to ensure that you have the products that suit you best. That is why the Ethical Collection’s returns policy goes above and beyond the expectations of the two relevant statutory laws, The Consumer Guarantees Act and Fair Trading Act. These laws provide the basis for our returns policy but we also offer you further protection as a valued customer of Ethical Collection.
Ethical Collection offers a 30 day Money Back Guarantee with proof of purchase.
Due to the nature of the products we sell, for a product to be returned under our policy, that product must be unused and in a resalable condition unless faulty or otherwise defective. It's this policy that provides you peace of mind while shopping with Ethical Collection.
Consumer Guarantees Act 1993
The Consumer Guarantees Act sets out minimum standards for goods sold by Ethical Collection Ltd. In the event that goods sold are deficient or are faulty, the retailer has the obligation to repair, replace or refund.
Fair Trading Act 1986
The Fair Trading Act is designed to protect the customer from being misled, either intentionally or unintentionally. This applies to all aspects of the promotion and sale of goods and services including: pricing; where the product was made; where the product is from; the meeting of New Zealand safety standards; availability of products in store and the sales techniques used. The Commerce Commission enforces the Fair Trading Act 1986.
There are three options available for our customers who would like to return a product.
Exchange: If a product is unsatisfactory, we can offer to exchange it for another one (i.e. a colour etc) or another product of the same value. Proof of purchase is required in order to get an exchange. Please note, as mentioned above, products returned or exchanged must be unused and in a resalable condition with packaging intact and all labels etc returned with the item. Due to the nature of our products, exchanges are not available on used items, except where the product is deemed faulty.
30 Day Money Back Guarantee: Our Money Back Guarantee is a key aspect of our business. If a customer has proof that they purchased the goods from us within the last 30 days they may obtain a refund. A refund will be made in the same tender as the original purchase. Please note that products returned must be in resalable condition unless faulty or otherwise deficient. Due to the nature of our products the Money Back Guarantee does not apply to products that have been used. Where the products are faulty or damaged due to manufacturing faults we will either: (i) replace the products; or (ii) give you a full refund. Gift vouchers, and any item that is not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error, are exempt from this guarantee.
Credit Note: The issuing of credit notes provides an alternative to a refund or exchange. These credit notes can be used to purchase anything from Ethical Collection’s online store. Credit notes cannot be exchanged for cash and will not be generated for amounts less than $5.00.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item and confirm the next steps.
If you are due a refund, this will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
If you are due a replacement product, this will be processed, and the product will be shipped to you.

Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
